| Dear Inventor, In our attempt to provide you with a better and more complete understanding of the product which you have conceptualized, we have prepared for you the following engineering comments. |
||
| Invention Function The concept of the "Pitch Gard" is that of a newly designed portable backstop to protect a pitcher from line drives during batting practice. |

| General
Comments The "Pitch Gard" is a consumer oriented product which has been well thought out. The market for this invention, all consumers who enjoy baseball, is quite large. I feel the type of manufacturers interested in the "Pitch Gard" would be manufacturers of sporting goods, and perhaps plastic manufacturers. The market for this type of product is too widespread and varied to list all here. |

| CLASSIFICATION OF INVENTION A review of your invention has shown it to be a unique design. An example of a unique design would be the Geodesic Dome designed by Buckminster Fuller in 1947. His design is so unique and useful that most "Domed Stadiums" including the Super Dome in New Orleans, would not be possible without his design. The Geodesic Dome has been classified as one of the most important structural innovations of the 20th century. |

| LEVEL OF MANUFACTURING Evaluation of your invention has shown it to be of moderate difficulty to manufacture. This means that some specialized tooling will be required to manufacture the "Pitch Guard" |

| ABOUT YOUR PROJECT, The "Pitch Gard" After evaluating your project based on the above information and sound engineering principles, the "Pitch Gard" in my opinion is feasible in its current format. While there is much work left to take the "Pitch Gard" from concept to reality, in my opinion this concept is feasible within the realm of the information provided. |

| Conclusion This project in my opinion could make great use of a Technical Specification Sheet. A Technical Specification Sheet would allow you and your invention to communicate on a professional level with the manufacturers in the field of your invention. A Technical Specification Sheet will also provide a more accurate selection of manufacturers which your idea should be sent to for potential licensing, since the report determines the following: best methods of manufacturing, manufacturing techniques, and materials necessary. My primary reason for this suggestion is that it is very important to a manufacturer to have the confidence that you have considered your invention from their view-point of mass-production and cost. The Technical Specification Sheet will bring this part of your invention into focus to the manufacturer. |
